The SW department was my 1st choice when I joined council because it has always been a passion for me to help others, so I though caring for students' welfare will be a job for me.

Weekly Meeting
Every Monday, the SW department will have a meeting to discuss some updates of our tasks and make decisions.
We also have mini elections to choose the leaders who will guide certain tasks of the month like writing a newsletter or doing research. This happens every month, so everyone gets a chance to become a leader.

Students' Concerns Form
SW prepares a Students Concerns Form for students to submit their concerns or opinions about how things can be improved in college. They have the right to remain anonymous when we escalate their concerns to relevant parties.
The SW department will always check the concerns from the response and we will discuss how to address the concerns.
Monthly Newsletter
Every month, SW prepares a newsletter write-up for the following month. The purposrse of the newsletter is to promote clubs and societies in Taylor's by showcasing their events and to inform students about important announcements.
Once our write-up is done we will pass it to PR for them to make Instagram posts. Just like the bulleted list we did during probation.
SWCM
The Student Welfare Committee Meeting is a meeting held by management where council members and the managements discuss the concern of the students and get the management's response on it.Â
We prepare a team of 3 reps to attend the meeting and another 3 as backups. Before the meeting, we conducted research about what concerns to bring up and will discuss to finalize the points.Â
Once the meeting is over, we will have to gather the response from management and make a write-up so PR could make it into an insta post for students. We will also prepare a report.
Internals
Apart from caring for the welfare of students in college, SW also cares for the welfare of fellow council members, as we are students too. So, we have a Co-Director who is in charge of council welfare, and she will hold monthly internals fun events for council members to enjoy themselves.
