Travel Guide Pamphlet

This was an individual assignment, we needed to choose a township/ city of our origin along with a place of interest and promoted it through a manually done travel pamphlet.
Our research was divided into macro and micro studies.
Macro: a key plan of the town/city, history, and accessibility.
Micro: a place of interest, map zoning, and other tangible and intangible components of the built environment.
Finally, we will propose a future development or improvements for our township/ city.

Research

I first conducted research of my hometown: Tanjung Bungah, Pulau Pinang. And my place of interest: Tanjung Bungah Beach.

My information was compiled in a words document as a draft so I know what to draw in my pamphlet.

Draft

Once the research was completed I started to transfer my information on paper.
The pamphlet is done by manual drawing.

Final Outcome

I colored the finalized drafts with colored pencils and markers, here is the outcome.

I was glad that this assignment helped me to understand more about the built environment I had just learned.
Primarily, I understood better what are the tangible and intangible components of the built environment,

I needed to reassess my work multiple times to ensure my information was completed and ensure my pamphlet composition was presentable, as one of my challenges was to make my pamphlet neat and easy for reading.

In the last part of this assignment, I reflected on the social issues in my township. I realized there were gaps between diverse communities, resulting in a lacked of identity in my township.
By having this perspective, I proposed a future development to counter this issue in hopes to build a stranger sense of community in my township.
