Tzu Chi Journey
Tzu Ji Buddhist society is an NGO that strives to live out the Buddhist values of loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity while working to relieve the suffering of people. Their core values are '感恩，尊重，爱 '（ gratitude, respect, and love)
At the same time, I have joined Tzu Chi's Humanity Academy for almost 8 years, and Tzu Chi taught me to always care for our society by helping others and contributing to good deeds.
Here are some voluntary activities, performances, and mind-raising campaigns I participated in this journey.
Tzu Chi Humanity Academy
The academy conducted Dharma School every 2 Sundays a month in a borrowed Chinese school. Here we learned many Buddhism teachings.
Home Visit For The Needy
Tzu Chi often visited the homes of the needy who reached out. A causal interview was usually held to understand the struggles they faced, so Tzu Chi could help them in their best possible capabilities.
We also called this ‘见苦知福’, meaning as volunteers witnessed the struggles of the world, they will realize how fortunate they were and should be grateful for the blessings they have.
Beach Cleaning
Tzu Chi Humanitarian Academy took us on a voluntary beach cleaning at Pantai Jerjak here in Penang. It was very tiring to collect litters under the hot sun, but this made us cherish the cleanliness of our environment.
Visit To VITrox
We visited a prestigious electronics company named VITrox ( the founder is a member of Tzu Chi ). It was a unique company that prioritizes green designs and the well-being of the workers as the founder was influenced by Tzu Chi's values.
I was amazed by their beautiful green factory which they build themselves from scratch ( they even have a vegetable farm ! ) and superb facilities for the workers.
Buddha's Birthday and Mother's Day
Tzu Chi always celebrated Buddha's Birthday and Mother's Day on the same day. In conjuncture to this, Buddha bathing ceremonies were held to purify our hearts and we were reminded to thank our wonderful mothers.
In 2017, the ceremony was conducted in my school Han Chiang High School.
The participants formed an image of 2 bamboo money tube; the coin was animating too. This served as a reminder for others to always give out with a generous heart.

2018 Performance
In 2018 Tzu Chi held an important performance that was based on a scripture. I was involved in a sign language performance. It was challenging as there were many gestures to do along with the speedy music rhythm. However, our performance was a major success.

Sports Day !
Tzu Chi do hold fun events like sports day too. Many games were organized where parents and kids played together; it was a perfect opportunity for us to bond with our parents.
In the 2018 sports day, my friends and I performed a warm-up dance and had lots of fun doing it !

Graduation
In the year 2020, I graduated and ended my journey at Tzu Chi Humanity Academy. My batch made a music video with us performing with sign language.
It was sad to leave...... Nevertheless, I was grateful for everything Tzu Chi has given me and for shapinging the person I am today.
