Designing with Architectural Principles, Materiality, Context, and User

This assignment combined what we learned from the previous 2. We were given a real site which was Bukit Jalil recreational park. After site analysis, we need to use the data to design a discovery unit in relation to the natural landscape. The goal was to employ our design objectives, materiality, construction, context and create a space with strong user experience.

Site:

Bukit Jalil Recreational Park

Intention:

Deriving from idea of spiral, allowing users to experience exponential growth and curving rhythm. As well as to create a space that maximize discovery, connects to nature, respects users' privacy, and with openings.

I applied what I've learnt about site analysis and constructed design response vignettes

The critical design thinking was tested when designing a user specific space that meet certain function and connects to the site. But I must make the users' experience strong too.

The process was daunting because I was not satisfied with my design. Nevertheless, I pushed myself through until the completion of the project.
