Design Your Own Country

In this assignment, we worked in teams to design a country. We then needed to create a map, flag, and motto of our country.
Again, we must use the design process in this assignment which is empathy, define, ideation, and prototype.

Empathy

Firstly, each team member created their own empathy map about their personalities and what they want in their country.

We did this in Canva slides.

Define

Next in define. We combined our ideas from empathy and created the narrative/ concept of our country.
The key things we defined were: location, history, government, food, architecture, culture, and custom.
Before making the Canva slides, we compiled our ideas in a master file.

Ideation

Moving on to ideation, we first drew 3 ideas for our country map and flag.

Afterward, we analyzed what we liked and disliked about each idea so we could decide which to implement in prototype.

We named our country 'Union of LeFrande' .

Prototype

When arriving in prototype, we were overwhelmed by the complication of ideas gathered for the map. However, we took things slowly and discussed one detail at a time. Eventually, we finalized everything for our country map.
Grace helped to draw out the map and we developed the designs.
Nathaniel and Joshua helped with the flag prototype, we then discussed and finalized that design too.

Present

Once the prototypes were finalized, we were ready to present our work.

Taylor's Graduate Capabilities

Our critical wits were tested as we needed to come up with logical designs.
Also, compiling massive ideas was confusing, but we managed things step by step.
Plus, we actually rethought the composition of our board a couple of times as Mr. Paul said they were not presetable.

This assignment taught me the capability of teams. Initially, I was worried about our progress as there was too much to do.
However, my teammates showed that teamwork could help to speed up the process and kept the team on track.
From this, I learned to trust my members more and believed in the power of teams.

This assignment helped us to explore more about Canva.
We discovered many useful functions of Canva and became familiarized to design things with it.
It was a useful skill as we could use Canva to design beautiful posters, presentations, infographics, etc. for our future assignments.
